Ingredients
Scale
Truffle Base
- 320g (11.25 oz) dairy-free sweetened condensed milk, 1 regular can
- 4 cups (320g) fine shredded coconut / desiccated coconut, plus extra for rolling
To Decorate
- 3 tablespoons vegan white chocolate, or white candy melts, melted and as needed
- 3 tablespoons black-colored icing, or as needed
- 2 tablespoons orange-colored icing, or as needed
- 24 thin pretzel sticks, 2 inches (5 cm) each
- 12 red candy straps, 5 inches (13 cm) each
Instructions
- Prepare the Truffle Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the dairy-free sweetened condensed milk with the finely shredded coconut. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is sticky and well combined.
- Form the Snowmen Shapes: Using your hands, shape the mixture into small snowman figures by creating two stacked spheres—a smaller one for the head and a larger one for the body. Roll some in extra shredded coconut to coat.
- Chill the Truffles: Place the shaped snowmen on a tray lined with parchment paper and refrigerate them for at least 1 hour to firm up and hold their shape.
- Decorate the Snowmen: Using melted vegan white chocolate or candy melts, pipe or spread on details such as eyes and the snowman’s contours. Use black icing to add eyes and buttons, orange icing to create tiny carrot noses, and insert pretzel sticks for arms.
- Add Scarves: Tie red candy straps around each snowman’s neck as scarves to complete the festive look.
- Final Chill: Return the decorated snowmen to the refrigerator for another 30 minutes to set all decorations firmly before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute regular sweetened condensed milk for a non-dairy version if not vegan.
- Use extra shredded coconut for rolling the truffles to avoid stickiness.
- These truffles are best served chilled and can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
- For a gluten-free version, ensure pretzel sticks used are gluten-free or substitute with sticks made of rice or similar.
