Description

This Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon recipe offers a deliciously sweet and savory glaze, infused with garlic and ginger, perfectly cooked to tender, flaky perfection. Ideal for an effortless, healthy meal, this recipe uses a slow cooker to gently cook the salmon, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully while keeping the fish moist and flavorful.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Honey Garlic Glaze

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Garnish

  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker: Lightly grease the bottom of the slow cooker insert with a small amount of sesame oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Season the salmon fillets: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Make the honey garlic glaze: In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir well until combined.
  4. Place salmon in slow cooker: Arrange the salmon fillets skin-side down in the slow cooker in a single layer.
  5. Pour the glaze over salmon: Evenly pour the honey garlic mixture over the salmon fillets, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  6. Cook the salmon: Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Finish and garnish: Carefully remove the salmon fillets using a spatula and place on serving plates. Spoon some of the remaining glaze from the slow cooker over the salmon.
  8. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle sliced green onions and sesame seeds over the top of the salmon for added flavor and presentation. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the salmon, as slow cookers vary in temperature. Check for doneness at 1.5 hours.
  • For a thicker glaze, remove the salmon once cooked and simmer the glaze on the stovetop for a few minutes to reduce.
  • Serve with steamed rice and vegetables for a complete meal.
  • You can substitute tamari for soy sauce to make this gluten-free.
