Lavender Lemonade Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons dried lavender
- 2 teaspoons sweetener (such as sugar, honey, or agave syrup)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 250 ml boiling water
- 2 cups sparkling water (chilled)
Instructions
- Steep the Lavender: Place the dried lavender in a heatproof container and pour the boiling water over it. Let it steep for 5 to 10 minutes to fully infuse the floral flavor.
- Strain the Lavender: Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the lavender-infused water into a pitcher to remove the lavender buds, keeping only the flavored liquid.
- Add Sweetener and Lemon Juice: Stir in the sweetener and freshly squeezed lemon juice into the warm lavender water until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
- Cool the Mixture: Allow the lavender lemon base to cool to room temperature or refrigerate it briefly for faster cooling.
- Add Sparkling Water: Just before serving, pour in the chilled sparkling water to add a refreshing fizz to the lemonade. Stir gently to combine.
- Serve: Pour the Lavender Lemonade over ice if desired, and garnish with a lemon slice or a sprig of lavender for an elegant presentation.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less sweetener.
- For a stronger lavender flavor, steep the dried lavender longer but avoid oversteeping to prevent bitterness.
- This drink is best served chilled and consumed within 24 hours.
- Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
- Try substituting sparkling water with plain water for a still version.
