Description
A tropical Hawaiian Guava Cake with soft vanilla layers, a sweet guava glaze, and a creamy guava cream cheese topping. Perfect for summer gatherings and celebrations.

- 1 box vanilla cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1 cup (240ml) guava nectar
- 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 package (3 oz) strawberry or guava-flavored gelatin
- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened (for frosting)
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 4 cups (480g) powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) guava nectar (for frosting)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) guava puree or nectar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp water (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp sugar (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, guava nectar, oil, eggs, and gelatin powder until well combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and guava nectar and mix until fluffy.
- For the glaze, combine guava puree, sugar, and cornstarch mixed with water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until thickened. Cool slightly.
- Spread frosting over the cooled cake, then pour and spread the guava glaze on top.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.
Notes
- You can use homemade guava puree or store-bought guava nectar for convenience.
- Chill the cake well before slicing for cleaner cuts.
- Decorate with fresh fruit or whipped cream for a festive look.
