Description

This Garlic Keto Flatbread is a low-carb, gluten-free bread alternative perfect for those on a keto diet. Made with almond and coconut flours, infused with garlic and onion powders, and bound together with psyllium husk, this flatbread is soft, flavorful, and versatile for wraps, sandwiches, or as a side to your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup coconut flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon psyllium husk powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¾ to 1 cup warm water (start with less and add as needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dry Mix: In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, coconut flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, baking powder, and psyllium husk powder. Stir well to ensure all the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Crack in the large egg and add the olive oil to the dry mixture. Begin mixing while gradually adding the warm water, starting with ¾ cup. Mix until a dough forms, adding water little by little as needed to achieve a soft but manageable dough consistency that is not too sticky.
  3. Shape the Flatbread: Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each piece out between two sheets of parchment paper to about ¼ inch thickness. This helps in easy handling and creates evenly shaped flatbreads.
  4. Cook the Flatbread: Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Carefully peel the parchment paper off one side and transfer the flatbread dough to the skillet. Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with remaining dough.
  5. Serve Warm: Once cooked, serve the garlic keto flatbreads warm. They’re perfect as wraps, for dipping, or as a side to your favorite meals.

Notes

  • Do not skip the psyllium husk powder as it helps bind the dough and provides the right texture.
  • Adjust water quantity carefully; too much can make the dough sticky, too little will make it dry and crumbly.
  • If the flatbread is browning too quickly, reduce heat to avoid burning.
  • For extra flavor, you can brush the cooked flatbreads with garlic butter or olive oil.
