Description

A warming and festive Fireball Sangria featuring crisp apples, tart cranberries, and a kick of cinnamon whiskey blended with apple cider and dry white wine to create a perfectly spiced and refreshing autumn drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit:

  • 1 red apple, rinsed, cored, and sliced ⅛-¼ inch thick (Pink Lady, Honey Crisp, or Gala)
  • 1 navel orange, rinsed, cut into ¼ inch thick rounds then halved
  • ½ cup whole cranberries

Spices:

  • 3 whole cinnamon sticks (food grade)

Liquids:

  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 3 cups (750 ml bottle) dry white wine (Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 1 cup Fireball cinnamon flavored whiskey
  • ¾ cup ginger ale, chilled

Serving:

  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit: Rinse the red apple and navel orange thoroughly. Core and slice the apple into ⅛-¼ inch thick slices, and cut the orange into rounds of the same thickness, then slice those rounds in half. Set aside the whole cranberries.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a large pitcher or bowl, add the sliced apples, orange halves, whole cranberries, and cinnamon sticks. Pour in the apple cider, dry white wine, and Fireball cinnamon whiskey. Stir gently to mix the flavors thoroughly.
  3. Chill and infuse: Cover the sangria mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the fruits and spices to infuse the alcohol and cider, developing deep flavor.
  4. Add ginger ale and serve: Just before serving, stir in the chilled ginger ale to add a refreshing fizz. Serve the sangria over ice to keep it cool and enjoyable.

Notes

  • Use fresh, crisp apple varieties such as Pink Lady, Honey Crisp, or Gala for the best texture and flavor.
  • A dry white wine like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc complements the sweetness and spice without overpowering the flavors.
  • Adjust the ginger ale quantity for more or less fizz depending on personal preference.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute white wine and whiskey with additional apple cider and a cinnamon syrup.
  • Infusing the sangria overnight enhances the cinnamon and fruit flavors even more.
