Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp Marinade

  • ½ Juice from Lemon
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano

Main Ingredients

  • 400 g Large Argentinian Shrimp, peeled and dried
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 200 ml Tomato Sauce
  • 500 ml Heavy Cream
  • Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • 300 g Linguine Pasta
  • Salt & Pepper, to taste
  • Parmesan, grated (optional)
  • Fresh Basil (optional)
  • Seasonings:
    • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
    • 1 teaspoon Red Paprika Powder
    • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Powder
    • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, combine the lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, red paprika powder, smoked paprika powder, and dried oregano. Add the peeled and dried shrimp, tossing them to coat evenly. Let the shrimp marinate for at least 15 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  2. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta, reserving some pasta water, and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add the marinated shrimp along with the remaining seasonings (garlic powder, red paprika powder, smoked paprika powder, and dried oregano). Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté the Garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  5. Prepare the Creamy Sauce: Pour in the tomato sauce, stirring to combine with the garlic. Slowly add the heavy cream to the skillet, stirring constantly to create a smooth sauce. Let it simmer gently for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Combine Shrimp and Pasta: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, mixing them into the creamy tomato sauce. Add the drained linguine pasta to the skillet as well. Toss everything together gently, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce and coat the pasta evenly.
  7. Season and Garnish: Season the pasta with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the dish. Optionally, garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves before serving.
  8. Serve: Plate the creamy shrimp linguine while hot, enjoying this flavorful and comforting seafood pasta dish.

Notes

  • Peeling and drying shrimp thoroughly helps the marinade adhere better and prevents excess moisture in the skillet.
  • Reserve some pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency if it becomes too thick.
  • Use freshly minced garlic for the best flavor.
  • Parmesan and fresh basil are optional but add extra depth and freshness to the dish.
  • Ensure not to overcook the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
