Description

A delightful recipe for Crumbl Cookies featuring a soft and chewy cookie base made with brown sugar, melted butter, and a blend of leavening agents, topped with a rich and creamy cream cheese frosting. These cookies combine a perfect balance of sweetness and texture, ideal for sharing or indulging in a comforting treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Dough

  • 70 g Brown Sugar
  • 70 g Sugar
  • 115 g Butter, melted
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 220 g Plain Flour
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour
  • ½ tsp Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 90 g Butter, softened
  • 90 g Cream Cheese
  • 250 g Icing Sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, sugar, and melted butter until smooth and creamy. Then add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well to incorporate fully.
  2. Add Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the plain flour, cornflour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined to form a soft dough.
  3. Shape Cookies: Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Using a spoon or cookie scoop, portion the dough into even-sized balls and place them on a lined baking tray, spaced evenly to allow for spreading.
  4. Bake: Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft. Remove from the oven and let cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  5. Make the Frosting: While the cookies cool, prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating the softened butter and cream cheese together until smooth and fluffy. Gradually add the icing sugar and continue beating until the frosting is creamy and spreadable.
  6. Frost the Cookies: Once the cookies are completely cool, spread or pipe the cream cheese frosting generously over each cookie.
  7. Serve and Store: Serve the cookies fresh or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Bring to room temperature before serving for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter for the frosting is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Do not overbake to maintain a soft, chewy texture in the cookies.
  • Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can help prevent excessive spreading during baking.
  • These cookies can be frozen either before or after frosting for longer storage.
