Ingredients
Scale
Pasta and Sauce
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 ½ cups milk
- 1 packet Tony Chachere’s Creole Alfredo Sauce Mix
- 1 tsp Tony Chachere’s More Spice Seasoning (adjust to taste)
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Protein and Vegetables
- 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté Sausage and Bell Pepper: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned and heated through, about 5-7 minutes. Add the sliced bell pepper and sauté until slightly softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Prepare Alfredo Sauce: In a separate saucepan, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Gradually whisk in the milk, then stir in the Tony Chachere’s Creole Alfredo Sauce Mix and More Spice Seasoning. Cook the sauce, stirring frequently until it thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sausage and bell pepper. Pour the Alfredo sauce over the pasta mixture, stirring gently to combine and evenly coat everything.
- Add Cheese and Finish: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the pasta and stir until melted and the sauce is creamy and well incorporated, about 2-3 minutes. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve: Remove from heat and serve hot as a hearty and flavorful Cajun-inspired meal.
Notes
- You can substitute penne with other pasta shapes like rigatoni or fettuccine if preferred.
- Adjust the amount of Tony Chachere’s More Spice Seasoning to control heat level.
- For a richer sauce, add a splash of heavy cream along with the milk.
- Add freshly chopped parsley or grated Parmesan cheese on top for extra flavor.
- Use smoked sausage such as Andouille for authentic Cajun taste.
